Tuscon water

Info

Print and Web
This large campaign set out to ease public concerns of water shortages and is highlighted by a print piece and microsite. It details how Tucson's water culture of the past and present has put the city in a much better position compared to other cities. By continuing with the common practices taught by the generations before them, Tucson is also ensuring success in the future.
Print
As an art director on this project I gave new life to archival images, maps, and graphics while overseeing the main design of this print piece called "The Responsible Desert Dweller Guide". Leaning on aesthetics of 60's-80's era national park guides, the goal was to create a guide that felt authoritative yet easy to consume through large pictures, maps and infographics. It served to highlight the cities rich water culture history and how to continue these efforts.
Timeline
Along with directing and providing feedback of the Dweller Guide, I also created digital version as a microsite. Here I leaned into a vertical approach of showing Tucson's history through a timeline. I added scroll based animations to keep the viewer engaged on their journey down the site.
Illustrations
I worked with our in-house illustrator to create "instruction manual style" graphics of people that represented the Tucson community. Also, I gave the illustrations more life on the website by integrating a subtle animation to reveal the highlighted objects when scrolled into view.
